Special Education Teacher (K-6) Leave Replacement 

Starting date: January 27, 2026

Requirements:

• Experience in a Special Education Class and/or  ICT settings 
• Provides specialized instruction to students with disabilities and follows the IEP
• Employ positive and therapeutic behavioral intervention strategies
• Collect data to monitor student progress and drive instruction
• Work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team to develop IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including IEPs and progress reports, in compliance with legal requirements.

Salary: Starting at $66,686.00 | At the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools, in accordance with the negotiated contract between Valley Stream District 30 and the Valley Stream Teachers Association (VSTA).

Job Qualifications

• Valid NYS certification:  
• Students with Disabilities Birth - Gr. 2; 
• Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6 
• Eligible for hire via Project SAVE requirements.
• Bilingual (SPA or Urdu ) preferred
